Gili Air, again – September 2019

My life in Gili Air has settled back on me like a cat finding its favourite place in the morning sun. It almost feels as though I never even left.

Obviously, there are some changes. The people are different. Some friends here are still the same. However, I have found myself making new, beautiful friends as well. Again, most of them are divers but there are a lot less French around me this time which means I understand a lot more of what’s going on. The French generally just speak French.

Women With Tattoos Who Travel – July 2019

I’ve had another visit from another friend. Only that before she arrived, we weren’t really close friends. Mo I met about a year and a half ago when she tattooed the galaxy on my arm. I saw on Instagram that she was doing a guest spot at a tattoo studio in Bali in July. I messaged her asking if she could tattoo me, but it just didn’t work out as I was working and money and all those things.

Nusa Lembongan – May 2019

Today marks the one week stamp of my arrival to Nusa Lembongan in Indonesia, and to my new life and job.

I have settled into my life here extremely comfortably and happily. A student told me the other day that she thought I’d been here for years. It seems that the grey clouds that were looming over me before a Melbourne winter are only a distant memory now. All the clothes I wore for my last week back home, I left there, knowing that I would not need my big boots and warm long sleeves, but have instead switched for lose shirts, easy dresses and bare feet. I couldn’t be more comfortable if I tried.
