My life in Gili Air has settled back on me like a cat finding its favourite place in the morning sun. It almost feels as though I never even left.
Obviously, there are some changes. The people are different. Some friends here are still the same. However, I have found myself making new, beautiful friends as well. Again, most of them are divers but there are a lot less French around me this time which means I understand a lot more of what’s going on. The French generally just speak French.

Change is a constant in life. We all know that. Our skin, hair, faces, relationships and even thoughts change. For some people, a little more quickly than others.
This constant state of change gives us permission and reminders that we should live in the present moment and enjoy what we have now. Because we know that it can all change in an instant.

I have found new challenges in coming back home. It seems that after you live a life of luxury and fame, coming back to a little island where no one knows you is incredibly humbling.
Since I got back to my island a little over a week ago, nothing much has changed. I have gone back to teaching yoga, and teaching a lot of classes actually.

The past few weeks have been an absolutely whirlwind consisting of early wake-ups, smiling faces and an experience I couldn’t have dreamt of in my wildest dreams.

I’ve had another visit from another friend. Only that before she arrived, we weren’t really close friends. Mo I met about a year and a half ago when she tattooed the galaxy on my arm. I saw on Instagram that she was doing a guest spot at a tattoo studio in Bali in July. I messaged her asking if she could tattoo me, but it just didn’t work out as I was working and money and all those things.

I taught a really powerful yoga class the other morning. Ironically it was a power yoga class. Power yoga is a vinyasa style class with a few strengthening exercises thrown in there. I really enjoy these classes. The energy needs to be built up quite high so that everyone feels like they can push through it and get there.

This may be the longest I’ve gone between blog posts since I started Mermaid Yoga Adventures, and for that, I apologise. I think that I have found that since I am living in Nusa Lembongan now, my little island, that I have no adventures to share with you all.

Oh, why hello there!
I know, I know, it’s been a while between posts. But once again my excuse is that I honestly just haven’t had the time. I have had a constant stream of friends come to visit me over the past few weeks which means that I haven’t found myself alone at all.

My birthday was this week. I’ve found there’s something extra special about having your birthday away from home.
You don’t have the luxury of organising a party with fancy things. You have to make do with what you have, which I think makes you appreciate it a whole lot more.

Today marks the one week stamp of my arrival to Nusa Lembongan in Indonesia, and to my new life and job.
I have settled into my life here extremely comfortably and happily. A student told me the other day that she thought I’d been here for years. It seems that the grey clouds that were looming over me before a Melbourne winter are only a distant memory now. All the clothes I wore for my last week back home, I left there, knowing that I would not need my big boots and warm long sleeves, but have instead switched for lose shirts, easy dresses and bare feet. I couldn’t be more comfortable if I tried.
