I feel like it’s about time to send out an update on my movements. Because for the first time in a long time, there is movement. And words to share about my time at Earth Frequency festival!
As winter began to etch its way into Melbourne, I felt restless and cold. If you don’t know me, you’ll soon find out that I just don’t do well in the cold. My skin dries out, the light from my eyes fades and I struggle to stay warm due to having poor circulation in my hands and feet.
Basically, I do not like it.

When I bought my ticket two weeks prior to Glowfest, there were so many unknowns. Firstly, I hadn’t been to a festival in over a year due to COVID-19, would I remember what to do? I’d also never been to a Burning Man-style event where you had to bring everything yourself (no food vendors).
But I found my feet and packed my little yellow convertible, Daffodil, full of camping gear, snacks and toys to light on fire and did the long, two-day drive from Melbourne to Waves Campground in Crescent Head, NSW. Down a bumpy, dusty road where phone signal was slowly lost, we were greeted at the driveway by colourful humans welcoming us to Glowfest.
I entered into a magical, calm world. The opening ceremony set the tone of respect, playfulness and growth together. Traditional owners of the land came and blessed us in a smoke ceremony in front of a magical bus, painted with a rabbit unicorn on the side and a DJ set up the top.
Whatever we were in for, I was excited.

If you’re new to yoga, or only been doing it for a short amount of time, the language used to describe styles of yoga can become overwhelming and confusing. Even when you go and Google these terms, there’s never really a straight forward answer as to what to expect. You just want to do, “yoga”, right? Well, when signing up to a practice it’s nice to know what you’re in for and which practice is going to suit your body best.

I combined all my favourite bits from previous blog posts about travelling and put them all in a neat little article.
I wrote this for Intuitive Wisdom, a wonderful site by Laura all about feeling full and gooey inside.
You can read my article here, but here’s a little taste as well:

The world seems to be suffering from the same thing but in so many different ways. And this largely depends on where you are.
My friends in Europe are experiencing a wonderful summer, filled with flowers and friends. Some of my friends in the United States and faced with big political discussions and movements. Others are unaffected and continuing on with their lives.
I’m in Melbourne and all I can talk about is what this experience is like.

So, what can we do now? Nothing is open, we’re not together or socialising and none of us can work (or, at least, not many of us). There’s a spooky, empty feeling going around that shadows over all of us. So, how about we just create things instead?
I was thinking the other day, however, that it seems the entire world is being forced to do what I’ve chosen to do. I’ve come home to spend time doing internal work. Winter is coming to Melbourne, which I haven’t experienced in three years. I know now that winter is a time to go inwards, to heal and to do the work.

Once again, the question I’m being asked most these days is “how does it feel to be home?”
And the answer is the same as it was the last two times I came home; it’s weird. But I think I can identify the weirdness a little easier now due to some reflection.

I’ve spent the last week at Envision Festival. I went totally off the grid in the jungle of Costa Rica. When I say off-grid, I mean that I turned my phone off and closed my laptop down. Although I had over 100 unread WhatsApp messages to read when I did re-enter cyberspace, it was a well-needed break from screens so that I could connect to something else.

My time in Nicaragua has come to a close and it’s provided me with a lot of time for reflection. As leaving a place always does, I start to feel incredibly nostalgic for where I am and what I’ll miss at both Surfing Turtle Lodge and Carpe Diem.

I’m still in Nicaragua and I’m still in the paradise called Surfing Turtle Lodge. My days are still much the same as what I described in my last post with only a few minor changes.
