Women With Tattoos Who Travel – July 2019

I’ve had another visit from another friend. Only that before she arrived, we weren’t really close friends. Mo I met about a year and a half ago when she tattooed the galaxy on my arm. I saw on Instagram that she was doing a guest spot at a tattoo studio in Bali in July. I messaged her asking if she could tattoo me, but it just didn’t work out as I was working and money and all those things.

She asked me my recommendations for places to go and visit during her week off after her guest spot at the studio. I told her a few places, ending with telling her that a visit to my island might be nice.

Thankfully, she took my advice and came to visit me here, and I could not be more grateful.

The other yoga teacher here, Merete, Mo and I have become fast friends. We have formed a little tripod of awesomeness that is so comfortable to bounce ideas around with each other. We are supportive of each other in our own unique struggles, whether it be age, job, relationships, families or life choices.

The three of us had the most beautiful day adventuring around Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Cenigan the other day that was top to bottom, one of the greatest days. (You can see my Instagram story highlight “girls day” @mermaidyogaadventures).

The day started by us taking scooters out. Merete and Mo had never driven scooters before, so I taught them both with encouragement and a slow pace. Mo drove herself around the whole day alone, and Merete rode on the back with me. We went for a delicious smoothie bowl breakfast, then to a lovely beach for a swim and a dance in the water. It was then lunchtime which we enjoyed overlooking the ocean. Next, we took ourselves to Devils Tears and saw as the waves crashed into the rocks. (I stood a little too close and got a bit splashed here.) And then we joined together in a yoga flow class lead by Merete.

After the amazing class, we went and had a delicious local dinner where I decided that I would celebrate this day each year as a day of abundance and friendship.

It was then I realised that it was the 24th of July, 24/7. It was a reminder that friendship, abundance and love surround us all the time.

Mo leaves us tomorrow, which is sad. But I am just so thankful that I now have this super duper cool friend that tattoos beautiful artwork on peoples bodies.

And yet another group of strong, powerful, uplifting women around me.
